Caroline Rose - Loner [LP] Loner [LP]

The songs and narrative’s on LONER reflect my life over the last couple years––I joined Tinder, I got my first apartment and painted it teal, I went to parties, I discussed politics, I had a girlfriend, we traveled the country, we broke up. I learned, for better or worse, how to be a member of the modern world. Turns out the modern world is terrifying. Tired of the bottomless pit of sad songs, I decided to put a spin on my greatest songwriting inspirations––misogyny, unplanned pregnancy, Capitalism, anxiety, loneliness and death––and wrap such depressing subject matter in a sprightly, angsty pop burrito…Because it’s hard being serious all the time and sometimes sad songs just need a cocktail. Loner reflects the styles of music I love––pop, folk, punk, electronic, and surf music––all thrown into a blender with a ladle full of cheeky satire. I call it Schizodrift. It sounds like Blondie drunk on mai tais. Loner was co-produced by myself and the wonderful Paul Butler (Devendra Banhart, Michael Kiwanuka, St. Paul & The Broken Bones) and recorded in freezing Northern California, in addition to my parent’s attic and my last apartment. It was mixed by sound guru Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Nick Hakim, Show Me The Body) in Brooklyn, NY. - C.Rose

Vance Joy - Nation Of Two Nation Of Two

James Keogh, otherwise known as Vance Joy, is a folk/pop artist from Melbourne, Australia. Vance Joy’s love of music was inspired by his mother’s aptitude at literature and his father’s fondness of singing. His parents’ vast, eclectic record collection only served to heighten his partiality to it. After completing a university degree in law, he decided to take a year’s break to focus on making music. He travelled to India and South-East Asia with a collection of songs rattling around in his head. When he came home, they all fell into place. Like the unforced orchestration of his songs, Vance Joy’s recent success has developed organically.

Grant-Lee Phillips - Widdershins Widdershins

I'm drawing from the urgency of the moment, says acclaimed Nashville-based singer-songwriter Grant-Lee Phillips, of Widdershins, his ninth solo album set for a February 23, 2018 release on Yep Roc Records. Inspired by the things that eat away in the late hours, Phillips invests the insight, nuance and wit in a riveting dissection of today's fraught social landscape.

Recorded over four days at Sound Emporium in Nashville, the 13-track set was produced by Phillips (guitar/vocals/keyboards) and cut largely live in the studio as a trio with Jerry Roe (drums) and Lex Price (bass). Mixed by Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, Punch Brothers) and engineered by Mike Stankiewicz, the album delivers its poetic truths in Phillips' peerless melodic sensibilities, relayed via vocal performances that balance intensity and vulnerability.

Milestones - Red Lights Red Lights

Combining massive melodies and punk spirit, The Manchester UK quartet Milestones don’t hide any ambition on their 2018 full-length debut, Red Lights. The group amplify their signature pop punk palette with stadium-size hooks and airtight alternative songcraft. (As a snapshot, envision Thirty Seconds To Mars reimagining Mayday Parade’s classic A Lesson In Romantics, but so much more!). They committed literally everything to the new album—holing up in producer Phil Gornell’s [Bring Me The Horizon, All Time Low] Sheffield studio for months at a time, sleeping on the floor, and engaging in marathon writing sessions for 15 hours straight. That dedication illuminates Red Lights.

Al Di Meola - Opus [LP] Opus [LP]

With a curriculum vitae rich of exciting musical moments and incredible works, Al Di Meola is still challenging himself and his music but with a more relaxed way to see things. Over the last few years he has literally started all over, reinventing himself in both, his private life and music, and his brand new studio album "OPUS" truly reflects all of this. 'With "OPUS" I wanted to further my compositional skills as I think that the evolution of this part of my persona has labeled me more composer/guitarist than guitarist/composer', says Al. 'At the same time this record also marks a new era in my life. For the first time in my life, I have written music being happy, I'm in a wonderful relationship with my wife, I have a baby girl and a beautiful family that inspires me every day. I believe it shows in the music.' Available on CD, 180 gram Vinyl and Digital.

Lo Moon - Lo Moon [LP] Lo Moon [LP]

Lo Moon is the highly anticipated self-titled debut album from this Los Angeles, California based indie rock band. The band consists of principle songwriter Matt Lowell (lead vocal, guitar and keyboard), Crisanta Baker (bass guitar, keyboard and backing vocals), and Samuel Stewart (guitar, keyboard and backing vocals). The album is produced by Chris Walla (Death Cab For Cutie) and Francois Tetaz (Gotye), and includes the previously released songs "Loveless," "This Is It," and "Thorns."

The band formed in Los Angeles after coming from different corners of the earth. Singer/guitarist Matt Lowell is from Long Island, New York, bassist Crisanta Baker from Denver, Colorado, and guitarist Samuel Stewart from London, England, and the band has been building their story since 2014. Their songs have been highly praised in the music press. And this debut album, Lo Moon is a dark, luscious collection of songs full of crescendo rock and sparkling electronics. The songs bridge a gap between soft experimental rock and atmospheric electronic pop. The record is a cool, dark, meditative exploration of bittersweet sadness and cathartic joy.

Lo Moon have also made themselves a home on the road throughout 2017 - opening for Phoenix, The War On Drugs, London Grammar, Glass Animals, Ride, and more - and 2018 sees them rapidly becoming one of the best new live bands to emerge over the last few years. Indeed, the New York Times esteemed music critic Jon Pareles called them one of the Top 10 artists he saw at Governor's Ball 2017, alongside the likes of Lorde and Chance The Rapper. The band will begin a headlining tour following the release of their album.
